Dr Sawyer graduated from the University of Sydney in 1984 and was in private practice in Sydney until 1996. She then relocated to Melbourne, Singapore and ultimately New York completing her postgraduate training at NYU in January 2001.
Dr Sawyer returned to The University of Sydney as Lecturer, Paediatric Dentistry in January 2001 and combined this with an appointment as a Dental Officer (Paediatric Dentistry) and later as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist at United Dental Hospital of Sydney (now Sydney Dental Hospital) until November 2002.
She was Head of Discipline Paediatric Dentistry, The
University of Sydney from November 2001 until December 2003
coordinating both the
undergraduate and
postgraduate courses in Paediatric Dentistry.
Dr Sawyer commenced in full-time private Specialist Paediatric Practice in Crows Nest in 2004. She has accreditation for theatre use in Prince of Wales Private Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Sydney ENT and Facial Day Surgery Chatswood, St George Private Hospital, and Armidale Private Hospital.
She is a visiting Specialist with HNEAHS and visits the New England area once a month alternating between Tamworth and Armidale and is accredited with Tamworth Base Hospital and Regional Hospital Armidale.
Dr Sawyer is presently working towards a Master of Early Childhood Studies with Macquarie University. She also travels to Papua New Guinea as a Visiting Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry.
Dr Sawyer has three children and one grandson.

Dr Scott graduated
with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) from theUniversity of
Sydney in 1997. She worked as a Dental Officer at the Sydney Dental Hospital and the Westmeade Centre for Oral Health and in general private practice in Sydney before commencing her specialty training in 2002. From 1998 until 2002 she also appointed as an Associate Lecturer in restorative dentistry at The University of Sydney.
In 2001, she became a Fellow of The Royal Australasian
College of Dental Surgeons. She completed her specialty training
in Paediatric Dentistry at
the University
of Sydney in 2004, obtaining a Master of Dental Science
(Paediatric Dentistry) degree with Honours. She then worked in private practice and as the Fellow in Paediatric Dentistry at The Children ' s Hospital at Westmead until 2006. She is currently a Visiting Dental Specialist at The Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
Dr Scott is an elected council member of The Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch) and serves on committees for The Australian Dental Association, The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the NSW Department of Health. She is an examiner for The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (general dentistry stream), and is involved with dental teaching at The University of Sydney for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Dr Scott is also committed to providing continuing education for dentists, medical practitioners and other professionals with an interest in the oral health of children.
Dr Scott joined our team at The Specialist Paediatric
Dental Practice in July 2006. She has a particular interest in treating medically compromised patients and those with special needs. When she is not practicing dentistry, she is kept busy running after her very active toddler daughter, and not so active Bassett Hound.

Dr Nymphia Shekaran

Dr Nymphia graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Otago, New Zealand in
2000
. Following graduation, she completed the Graduate Dental Program and worked in private practice in rural New Zealand in 2001.
After migrating to Australia in 2002, she worked in private practice in Sydney and then Perth until 2003 after which she was appointed Junior Dental Registrar at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Perth. She moved to Melbourne in 2005 to pursue her post-graduate studies in Paediatric Dentistry. She graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) from the University of Melbourne in 2007.
Dr Nymphia's special interests include providing comprehensive dental treatment to children with Autism spectrum disorder, Attention deficit disorder and those with special needs.
Dr Nymphia is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist who joined the team at the The Specialist Paediatric Dental Practice in Feb 2008.
